- Choose polycarbonate where impact or flying debris is likely, since it absorbs a strike without shattering. Acrylic is preferred where optical clarity, scratch resistance and cost matter more than impact strength.
- Does polycarbonate yellow outdoors?
- Untreated polycarbonate will yellow under UV. Specify UV-stabilised sheet and fit it with the coated face outward for a service life well beyond ten years in New Zealand conditions.
- Can polycarbonate be cold-bent on site?
- Yes, within a minimum radius of roughly 150 times the sheet thickness. Tighter curves need line bending or thermoforming with the sheet properly dried first.
