What is the difference between cast and extruded acrylic?
Cast acrylic machines and laser cuts more cleanly, holds tighter tolerances and resists crazing, so it suits fabricated parts. Extruded acrylic has a tighter thickness tolerance and a lower cost, which makes it the better pick for flat glazing and bulk panels.
Can acrylic be bent or formed after cutting?
Yes. Acrylic line-bends at around 150–160°C and vacuum forms readily. Keep the material dry before heating and allow for a slight spring-back on tight radii.
How should acrylic be cleaned on site?
Use warm soapy water or an acrylic-safe cleaner with a soft cloth. Avoid solvents such as methylated spirits, acetone and ammonia-based glass cleaners, which craze the surface.
